Founder and Editorial Director. Havana, Cuba. (2001–2005)

This is one of my biggest accomplishes on my professional career, period. Movimiento Magazine was the first and only magazine in Cuba dedicated to Hip Hop culture and contemporary Afro-Cuban issues. As the founder and editorial director, I originated name and concept of the magazine; selected editorial content focusing on cultural, artistic, social, racial, and political issues and selected the Editorial Board of Advisers who represented diverse fields of intellectual expertise, creating intergenerational dialog between established academics and artists. Movimiento Magazine also explored Hip Hop and its relationship to contemporary issues such as youth, race, economic and social justice, as well as the impact of Cuba’s culture and music globally.
